Our mission is to harness the power of storytelling to amplify youth voices, foster intergenerational learning, and cultivate empathy, collaboration, and resilience. Through cross-disciplinary arts, Brilliant Voices supports youth in discovering purpose, uplifting each other, and weaving a stronger, more connected community.

Our story

Brilliant Voices launched in 2023, born from the belief that empathy unlocks potential and that every young person can help weave a stronger, more connected community. Created by Jean-Jacques Ngandu of The House Ottawa and Amina Atillah of Britannia Woods Community Services, the program invites youth to explore storytelling across multiple artistic mediums—spoken word, music, visual art, and performance. Through collaboration and care, participants discover their passions, lift one another up, and bring diverse voices into the room. Our work is rooted in empathy, community, and the transformative power of storytelling.

Hi, I’m Ayah — a recent Media Design graduate from Algonquin College.

I joined BV to expand on what I learned in school and to gain hands-on experience in event shooting, storytelling, scriptwriting, and interviewing.
